At the August Management Committee, the Club's Executive Committee proposed to the Management Committee an increase to the monthly membership subscription from £16 to £18 for the 2026/2027 season.
As a not-for-profit community football club, our priority has always been to provide the best possible environment for our players, volunteers and families. Rather than generating large financial surpluses, we reinvest the income we receive back into the Club to continually improve the experience for everyone involved.
Over recent years, the Club has continued to grow and invest in a number of key areas, including coaching, safeguarding, equipment, volunteer support, governance and improved facilities. One of the most significant developments has been securing access to the new 3G facility at EBCSA, providing high-quality, year-round training and playing opportunities for our members.
Our latest annual accounts reflect this commitment to reinvestment. During the year, the Club incurred expenditure of more than £121,000, resulting in a modest surplus of just £942—less than 1% of our annual income. While this demonstrates that Club funds are being invested directly back into football, it also highlights that there is very little financial headroom to support future growth or absorb increasing costs.
To ensure the Club remains financially sustainable and continues to develop its facilities, coaching and support for members, the Executive Committee believes that increasing the monthly subscription to £18 represents a fair and proportionate contribution.
Following careful consideration, all members of the Management Committee unanimously supported the proposal to increase the monthly membership subscription to £18 per month for the 2026/27 season.
We never want subscription costs to be a barrier to playing. If this increase creates difficulty for your family, please contact your age group manager in confidence — we're happy to discuss options.
