Gomersal and Cleckheaton Chairman, Mick Binks, has been nominated for a special award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to grassroots football.

Mick has volunteered at Gomersal & Cleckheaton FC for more than 33 years and currently serves as Chairman. His nomination reflects his long-standing commitment to making football inclusive and accessible for all.

Mick has led the club’s “Tots” sessions for 4-5 year-olds for many years now, and is often the first friendly face that new families meet when joining the club. In recent years, he has played a key role in expanding opportunities to the local community by supporting the introduction of girls’ football and, this year, disability football.

As a result of his dedication, Mick has earned a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play a football match on the pitch at Wembley Stadium.
