Last week our club chairman, Mick Binks, and club Welfare Officer, Andrew Birkenshaw, fulfilled every young footballers dream and graced the hallowed turf at Wembley.

As a result of thier services to Grassroots Football over the years, both were afforded the opportunity as a thanks from the FA for all their efforts.

The pair started the day with a pre-match breakfast inside Wembley Stadium, before being led down to the changing rooms to get into their kits, adorned with the GCFC crest.

When the bell rang for kick off both lined up and emerged from the tunnel, emulating the many greats who have gone before them.

A 60 minute match followed, in which Mick and Andrew both contributed to a comfortable win.

To make the occasion even more special a round of penalties took place, which both Mick and Andrew converted successfully to add 'goals at Wembley' to their already impressive footballing CVs.

An absolutely amazing experience for both, and all at GCFC are proud that they were able to represent the club at such a prestigious event.
