On Wednesday 15th May our Men's First Team lifted the West Yorkshire League Cup after beating local rivals Littletown in the Final 2-0.

Getting to the Final was half the battle as lads came up against some good teams in the earlier round. We beat:

Headingley 3-3 (7-8p) Gomersal & Cleckheaton
Harlow Hill 0-1 Gomersal & Cleckheaton
Kirk Deighton 0-3 Gomersal & Cleckheaton
Oxenhope 2-2 (3-4p) Gomersal & Cleckheaton

In the Final we faced Littletown who had recently been crowned League and County winners.

The First Team rose to the occasion, winning every 1st and 2nd ball and looking the most threatening of the two teams for the full 90 minutes. The Littletown players who were on a 24 match winning streak started to let frustration of being second best get the better of them and finished the game with only 8 men after having 3 players sent off.

It was an outstanding performance from the lads in red & black, Jonny Irving scored both goals for Gomersal and Jonjo Haley was awarded the Man of the Match from the league representatives.
