On the 6th September Gomersal travelled to league leaders Silsden for a tough battle under the floodlights.
Silsden, a side that likes to play out from the back and move the ball around have caused problems for every team they have faced so far. Gomersal started off in a 4-3-3 looking to hit Sislden on the counter attack trying to set traps and release the 3 attackers where possible into the spaces that Silsden would leave as they tried to progress up the pitch.
The game was played at a good tempo with neither side wanting to show any sign of weakness, there was limited chances for both teams with both sets of defenders nullifying the attacks.
Silsden scored through Dan Smith who got through the defence with some individual fast feet. Gomersal did not feel sorry for themselves however, they managed to tie the scores level again when centre back Ste Smith met the ball from a cross and headed home to make it 1-1.
Both teams pushed to get the winner, in the end a draw was a fair result.
