Gomersal & Cleckheaton 2-0 Knaresborough Town

A solid start to the season for the 1st team with 3 points and a clean sheet. Gomersal made a strong start to the game, dominant in possession and created the most chances.

Gomersal made the breakthrough on the 28th minute, Centre forward Adam Simpson got his first goal on debut. Looking to carry on taking the game to Knaresborough it wasn't long before the lead was double. It was Adam Simpson again who found the back of the net on the 38th minute, making a fine start in the red and black colours.

Gomersal went in to half time 2-0 up and looking comfortable. There was a drop in tempo in the second half but solid defensive efforts from the full squad managed to secure the victory and keep the clean sheet. Stuart McCallum and Nathan Willoughby were dominant in midfield throughout the whole game.

Attention now turns to a local derby against Littletown on Wednesday night!
